Lytton Fuel Terminal

The Lytton Terminal is a 110ML diesel import and storage facility located at the Port of Brisbane and provides up to an additional 12 days of supply storage into the Brisbane market. Designed to maximise efficiencies, the terminal loading gantry is capable of filling two trailers simultaneously at a rate of 2400 litres per minute at each loading arm. The gantry has been designed for AB triple access with room for a third loading skid at each lane.

Safety & Environment

Safety is an overriding priority for IOR Terminals and it is committed to conducting its business in a manner that protects the safety of employees, others involved in its operations, the public, and the environment.

Port Bonython Terminal provides regional South Australian users a benefit through its closer proximity and thereby reduced kilometres travelled to source product. This also helps the environment with the equivalent reduction of carbon emissions. A reduction in kilometres travelled also has a marked impact in terms of operations risk mitigation and IOR Terminals is proud to contribute to the reduction of risk on our South Australian roads.

Port Bonython Fuel Terminal & Terminal Pick-Up

Our state-of-the-art fuel terminal located at Port Bonython, approximately 25 kilometres north of Whyalla and 80 kilometres south of Port Augusta is the largest diesel fuel storage facility in South Australia. The terminal was commissioned in May 2016 and employed over 130 people at peak construction time. The workforce was sourced almost entirely from South Australia and where possible from the local communities around Whyalla, Port Augusta, and Port Pirie.

Terminal Features include:

  • 81ML diesel storage (3 x 27ML tanks)
  • 2 bay gantry, each bay with 3 arms (2,400 Lpm per arm)
  • Vehicle Access – up to Triple road trains
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days per week
  • Access to deep water port via existing uncongested jetty
  • Modern driver and administration facilities

The rural terminal location ensures less ‘external’ factors, such as traffic congestion, influence transport routes

Terminal pick-up

IOR Terminals offers customers the ability to collect bulk diesel directly from Port Bonython terminal with greatly extended available access.

The natural geographic advantage for ex terminal supply can be enjoyed by users on the Eyre Peninsula, in Northern and other regional areas of South Australia. There are statutory and environmental health and safety requirements, which must be satisfied before access is granted relating to the driver and the vehicle. Please contact us if you would like information on the necessary accreditations.

Diesel

IOR Terminals Diesel is a low sulphur high-quality automotive diesel fuel with a sulphur content of less than 10ppm. IOR Terminals Diesel meets all the requirements of the Australian Fuel Quality Standards Act 2000 (Cth) with cold properties controlled by Australian Standard AS 3570 – 1998.

IOR Terminals Diesel is suitable for all diesel-fuelled engines in mobile, portable and stationary applications including high-speed diesel engines for trucks, buses, cars, construction, mining, and heavy earth moving equipment, power generation, on-road and off-road.

IOR Terminals can import fuel from the highest quality producing refineries, internationally, to the benefit of its Australian users. This management of Diesel across the entire supply chain, including the supply, shipping, storage, and marketing means that customers enjoy dealing with an integrated supplier.

Quality and Products

IOR Terminals Diesel conforms to the Australian Fuel Quality Standards Act 2000 (Cth) with cold properties controlled by Australian Standard AS 3570 – 1998.

IOR Terminals maintains the highest standards for its product quality. This is a critical priority and stringent product quality checks are undertaken at Port Bonython.

Some of the procedures in place to ensure product integrity are:

  • Fuels are tested at the load port
  • Fuels are tested upon receipt at Port Bonython
  • Single dedicated product pipeline from ship to shore
  • Dedicated discharge tanks
  • Tested samples are retained for 6 months
  • Storage tanks undergo regular inspection and maintenance

IOR Terminals also offer an Ultrafine Filtered Diesel and Premium Diesel ex terminal gate. The terminal has the capability to filter diesel to a level of 15/13/10, far exceeding  the industrystandard. This filtration process is designed to reduce the running costs of light and heavy vehicle engines, by reducing the amount of particulate contamination

IOR Premium Diesel is a high-grade premium diesel which has been formulated to meet the requirements of our unique South Australian environment. It combines IOR Diesel with a multifunctional additive that enhances the performance of equipment by counteracting the problems of injector fouling in diesel engines, preventing corrosion and providing enhanced fuel stability.
